Analysis on the application of PVDC flexible packaging

first, the all-weather high barrier advantage has developed rapidly in China in recent years. PVDC as a packaging material is the only packaging material with high oxygen resistance and high humidity resistance in common polymers. Not only that, its flexibility, low-temperature heat sealing, oil penetration resistance and corrosion resistance are top, so it is not too much to call it an all-weather high barrier flexible packaging material. It has always been recognized by experts in the industry. Because 1. Button box: it has unique advantages of being able to manipulate the clamping of high and low jaws more easily. For half a century, although various kinds of plastic films have been emerging, they have not shaken their leading position. That is, EVOH, which appeared in the 1980s, has very high oxygen resistance and unique environmental effect, but its resistance to humidity has decreased significantly. In order to achieve a high oxygen resistance effect, it must be protected from the impact of humidity, It greatly limits its scope of application. For another example, the barrier property of biaxially stretched pet and PA can only be called the lower middle level, and their moisture or oxygen permeability is 10 ~ 100 times greater than that of PVDC. In the food market with extremely rich materials, merchants pay attention to shelf life. Therefore, the scope of application is also limited. In China, the real introduction and application of PVDC packaging began in the early 1990s. At that time, due to the limitations of living standards and market supply, PVDC packaging was limited to red sausage and cigarette packaging, and there were few large-scale food packaging. At present, although the application of PVDC single film is still lingering in the field of meat intestines and fish intestines, and the large-scale fresh-keeping film has not yet opened the situation, the application of coated film with low cost and excellent moisture resistance and oxygen resistance in the food market is very prominent. Just take Futong company as an example. In the five years from 1999 to 2003, it developed from dozens of tons to more than 1000 tons. The absolute sales volume in 2003 increased by more than 400 tons compared with that in 2002. In terms of a certain food packaging, such as the cake packaging of "ShaQima", the sales volume in 2003 doubled compared with that in 2002. This simple data indicates that this vigorous growth rate in China's high barrier flexible packaging, along with the improvement of people's living standards, began to pursue the quality of life, requiring not only food and clothing, not only the abundance of food, but also convenient eating, fresh preservation and taste. The unique double high barrier and all-weather advantages suitable for modern packaging of PVDC are highlighted. At present, the development of C flexible packaging in PVD in China has been clarified after a long time of comparison, ending the dilemma of wandering for 10 years and showing a vibrant prospect

second, the market potential is commendable

as for the macro food packaging market, according to the data of PSP intelligence, the food packaging rate of the United States, Europe and Japan reaches 80 ~ 90%, while the food packaging rate of China, India and Southeast Asia is only 5%. In the early stage, China always listed "shirtless food", even if the packaging was not hygienic and beautiful. In recent ten years, although there has been a great improvement, and colorful small food packaging can be seen in the market, the real share of high barrier packaging is very small. From the analysis of the current population share, it is 0.002kg/person year, which is only 1% of the annual consumption of the Japanese. The above two sets of data show that the potential market for food packaging is quite strong in both China and Southeast Asia. In the next 10 years, the market absorption of PVDC flexible packaging in China will increase by several to ten times. In particular, the development of a broad rural market, due to dispersion and long distance, high barrier food packaging is more prominent

in addition to the macro market potential, there are still fields that are very mature abroad and still belong to "frozen soil" in China to be developed. One is paper coating. In the United States, the application direction of PVDC products is mainly in two areas. If there is looseness, one is fresh-keeping film, which is almost a household consumable. The second is paper coating, which accounts for 40% of the total consumption of PVDC. As for the fresh-keeping film, China has been impacted by the low-cost PE film, and few of them have been listed. So far, there have been no reports of large-scale success in paper coating, mainly due to cognition and corresponding cost problems. The second is the packaging of instant noodles. In Japan, 48% of kpet is used for instant noodle packaging and 18% of kPa is used for instant noodle soup packaging, but China has not really developed and used it so far. Although many companies agreed to try it out, they were finally rejected because the existing packaging could be maintained. In addition, PTP packaging of drugs can also be further developed. The year before last, Hangzhou plastic factory developed Chinese patent medicine packaging with PVC/PVDC hard chips, which broke through the expected development trend of 25% that year. With the high requirements of drug packaging in China, pure PVC hard films cannot meet the requirements of moisture and oxygen resistance, and a large number of PVC/PVDC hard films will be applied to the drug market. In recent years, PVC/pvdcptp packaging in Europe and the United States has increased by 25% every year, which can be used for reference

III. a new trend worthy of attention

over the years, since the advent of PVDC began in World War II and was initially used in military affairs, it has been covered with a mysterious color. Its founding enterprise Dow Corporation of the United States listed it as non transferable technology. For decades, this product has been tightly blocked in China. At its most arrogant, it only provides terminal products, not even raw materials, that is, it only sells you films, not resins. With the successful development of PVDC in China, this technical blockade has been broken, and the products, technologies and application equipment have become popular in China, but their products are still flooded in the Chinese market. In recent years, due to the technological progress of China's PVDC processing industry, PVDC coating film began to be exported abroad. Canada, the United States, Europe, South Africa, and even Argentina in South America have purchased goods, and the absorption volume has increased year by year. Only Futong company exported tentatively from 2002, and nearly 100 tons were exported in 2003. PVDC products have always been the high-tech monopoly products of western developed countries. In recent years, why will it change from an exporter to an importer? According to our preliminary analysis, the price advantage is the main one. Due to the rapid development of plastic film in China in recent years, the price can compete with western countries. The second is technological progress. The internal quality of PVDC composite film (mainly coating film) in China is by no means worse than that in developed countries. From this phenomenon, it is expected to become the counter evidence of the replacement materials for the manufacture of disposable coffee cups and other supplies in the future. The PVDC packaging film, which has been popular in western countries for half a century, is still developing. Why would China doubt its application prospect. (to be continued)
